What Does it Mean to Be “Born”?

To be “born” means spiritual rebirth. Ephesians 2:13-18. It means to be born of the Spirit of God. John 3:8. It means to become the temple of Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. It means to become a member of God’s household or family.

What Does it Reign?

Ephesians 1:17-23, Genesis 37:8.

Jesus reigns forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Exodus 15:18. As born again Christians, we become the children of God. We become joint heirs with Christ of all that our Father possesses. He possesses everything. We are complete in Him and we are seated in Christ Jesus in Heavenly places. Therefore we too are seated in and reigning with Him. Colossians 2:10, Revelation 5:9-14, Ephesians 2:6.

To reign means that in Christ we are prophets, priests, and kings. Revelation 5:10. It means that we are ambassadors for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20. We rule on earth in His stead. We become extension of God’s hands on earth. Mark 16:17-18.

Reigning means that we are lions after the order of the Lion of Judah. Revelation 5:5.

We are victors and not victims. We are delivered from our enemies who are now under our feet just like they are under Jesus’feet. 1 Corinthians 15:25, Luke 1:74, Ephesians 1:22, Psalm 8:4-8.

Reigning portrays being the head and not the tail, being above and not beneath. Deuteronomy 28:13, Colossians 1:18.  It means occupying until Jesus comes back. Luke 19:13.

Reigning means that we have authority through the Word of God, Blood of Jesus, Name of Jesus, Holy Ghost fire, and other weapons that are available to us as Christians. We have dominion over sin, self, flesh, circumstances, demon, and Satan. Gen 1:26-28, 27:40, Isaiah 43:2, Luke 10:18-19. It portrays a person of honor and power.  It involves doing the “greater works than Jesus did,” because Jesus has delegated that assignment  and the power to do it to us.  John 14:12.

Hindrances to Ruling and Reigning

2. Sin (Roman 6:12, 2 Timothy 2:19)

3. Disobedience (2 Corinthians 10:6)

4. Prayerlessness

6. Failure to exercise the Christian's God given authority and weapons.

7. Captivity (2 Timothy 2:26)

9. Curses, covenants, and bad foundation (Psalm 11:3)

10. Unwillingness to suffer with Christ. (2 Timothy 2:11-12)

11. Laziness (Proverb 12:24, 24:30)
