"He sent His Word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalm 107:20)
In John 1: 14, we are told that "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." Then in Verse 14, we are told that:
"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The Word here is talking about the person of Jesus Christ.
God sent His only son to the world to redeem us. But after redemption we are told here that there is more. From Psalm 107:20, we can see that the sent Word of God, Jesus, heals and delivers as well.
While there has been a lot of emphasis on the healing power of Jesus, as a separate work from salvation, very little has been taught in the Church on the Deliverance power of Jesus Christ and His Word. Jesus was sent to save, heal, and deliver among other things.
The progression is you get saved, then you get healed and delivered. We must go beyond the message of salvation and teach the full counsel of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. How can they hear unless they are taught about these things?
So that is why we are discussing this topic here today. That God made provision for our healing and deliverance not just our salvation by sending Jesus. As you catch this revelation you get healed and delivered by His Word, His Blood, and His Name. Delivered from what? Delivered from the evil works the the enemy had planned and put in place to destroy you.
We must take advantage of this provision and teach those around us how and when to do the same. Amen! The Bible tells us that to him that knows to do good but does not do it, it is sin.
